“Every sports team today announces their MVP,” says Steve Pedelty. “And that’s both a good thing and an honor. That person tends to be the go-to individual you know that you can count on during tough times or difficult decisions. They make everyone around them better.”

For M&B Hangers, that MVP we celebrate today is our customer service representative, Alicia Davis, who is retiring after a wonderful career and 16 years with M&B. The second of seven children, and a daughter of a Baptist minister, she spent several years working with Coca Cola in Gadsden, Alabama. She then began working with Steve Pedelty at Cleaners Hangers in 1984 in customer service, (“BCP” as Steve says. “Before Cell Phones.”) Her last day was on a Saturday in 2003, and two days later, bright and early she started with M&B Hangers.

Since 2003, Alicia Davis has served the M&B Family as if it were her very own, and as she enters a new chapter in her life, retiring to spend more time with her husband, children, and beloved grandchildren, we honor all that she has done for our organization and our customers over the years. To know her is to love her, but truly, it is to be loved by her. Her customers adore her, M&B employees rely on her, and the success of our business is built on people just like her.

One statement Steve and others at M&B hear from customers, time and time again, is simply put: “Alicia is the best.” And she is! “They say, ‘Alicia is the best customer service representative that we deal with, day in and day out. The best!” Steve says.

And our customers are right. Alicia is the best.

Steve continues, “She has done her job right, each and every day, with no bad words said, no mean words uttered, and always walking the narrow road of putting both the customers and company first. Well done, my friend, well done.”

Milton Magnus says, “What can I say about Alicia that isn’t known by everyone that knows her?  She is a caring and loving person.  She doesn’t wear her faith on her sleeve, she lives it in her heart.  She drove 60 miles to work and home each day for several reasons.  She loves what she does, having a job is a good thing, and she had the desire to take care of M&B and her customers, who have become her true friends.”

Thank you, Alicia! For the work you’ve done, for the lives you’ve touched, and for the example you have set of kindness, hard work, and integrity. You have helped us for 16 years to be a better company and to live by one of our values, The Golden Rule.

Best Wishes to you, Steve, the children, and grandchildren! Congratulations on your retirement, and thank you for sixteen wonderful years with M&B Hangers.
